We are excited to announce that we’re working with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to offer Canadian students and teachers five gamified courses designed to boost tax literacy and confidence.
Students will answer questions by exploring information in the CRA's online learning tool "Learn about your taxes." In these courses students will:
To celebrate their achievement, students will earn a personalized, digital certificate from ChatterHigh upon finishing the Completing a Basic Tax Return course.
These courses will also be featured in the Learn About Your Taxes competition that will be running from September 14 to October 12, 2022. The course booklet will be available by September 14th.
Every year, we have special days, weeks, and even an entire month dedicated to honouring the history and achievements of women and girls in Canada, and the importance of gender equality. One way we honour women’s history is by learning more about it!
Women and Gender Equality Canada works to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression through the inclusion of people of all genders, including women, in Canada’s economic, social, and political life. The Canadian Women in History course is a special initiative by Women and Gender Equality Canada to encourage learning and exploring among youth in grades 6-12.
In this gamified, online learning activity, students will learn about key figures, events, and gender equality milestones in Canadian women’s history. They’ll be introduced to resources like the Women of Impact in Canada gallery, which highlights women who have made significant contributions to human rights, politics, arts, science, and more, and who represent Canada’s diversity. Learn more about the course here.
International Travel Module will be added to the Travel Smart course by Global Affairs Canada to help students travel safely. This important new module covers safe travel and sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics (SOGIESC).
Thanks to a new Digital Guidance Office Course, high school students in B.C. can discover the post-secondary pathways that exist at St. Francis Xavier University. They’ll learn what distinguishes StFX from other schools, how to apply, how to finance their education and more!
Thanks to the new Discover Career Pathways in Long-Term Care course, Ontario high school students can learn about the variety of career possibilities in the long-term care sector. Not only will students explore career pathways in fields such as health care, social care, recreation, food services, but they’ll also discover resources that will teach them how to care for adults living with dementia through their words and actions. With various video interviews, students can hear first-hand from professionals in the field why they entered long-term care and what they enjoy about their career.
Ontario students in Grades 8 to 12 can learn about college diploma programs that will prepare them to become engineering technicians or technologists in all kinds of fields, such as bioscience, computer, environmental, mechanical and more!
