National Competitions
Learn About Your Taxes Competition: September 20 to October 18, 2023
We are excited that we’re working with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to offer Canadian students and teachers a competition based on six gamified courses designed to boost tax literacy and confidence.
The fall competition will run from September 20 to October 18. Students will explore the CRA’s “Learn about your taxes” online learning tool using ChatterHigh’s unique ‘seek-and-find’ approach. By competing in the competition, students will have a chance to share a piece of the $5,000 prize pot for their school!
- Competition dates: September 20 to October 18, 2023
- Eligibility: Canadian middle and high school students
- Available in French and English
Throughout the competition, students will:
- Learn why taxes matter
- Learn what documents they need to do their taxes
- See examples of tax slips and tax returns
- Discover the different ways to do their taxes
- Walk through the steps of completing a basic tax return
- Find out what to do if they make a mistake on their tax return
Did we mention that students can earn a Certificate of Achievement? To celebrate their achievement, students will earn a personalized, digital certificate from ChatterHigh upon finishing the “Completing a Basic Tax Return” course.
Money Management Competition: September 20 to October 18, 2023
We are delighted to invite you and your students to participate in the newly expanded Money Management Competition coming to ChatterHigh this Fall!
This competition is an opportunity for middle and high school students in Canada to become more confident about money management while having fun competing for their school.
- Competition dates: September 20 to October 18, 2023
- Eligibility: Canadian middle and high school students
- Available in English and French
We are so excited to announce the expansion of this competition to include both the Money Management Foundations course AND the Money Management After High School course by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC). This opportunity is a great way to encourage school pride while preparing students for the future. These courses will be available until the end of 2023 to ensure as many students as possible can benefit from this valuable resource.
Did we mention students will also receive certificates of completion provided by ChatterHigh and FCAC for each course that they complete?

Let’s Talk Careers: Canada’s Most Informed School and Student Competition: October 30 to December 8, 2023
Canadian middle and high school students can discover post-secondary pathways and career possibilities through the 10-question Daily Quiz and compete for school-wide prizes and student bursaries! Through resource exploration, students will learn all about post-secondary opportunities in STEM and trades. There is a total of $32,500 in cash prizes to be won by students and schools. Top schools will share a portion of the $10,000 prize pot while students can earn up to a $200 bursary by achieving a threshold of correct answers until the $22,500 student prize pot is depleted. The top 3 schools in each category receive one of these ⬆️awesome banners to celebrate their success.

Regional Competitions
Through our upcoming regional competitions, students gain the chance to delve into career and post-secondary resources.
Bonus: If your students are participating in regional daily quiz career exploration competitions during the same date as the national Let’s Talk Careers competition, they’re automatically competing in both!
NB ChatterHigh Competition (New Brunswick):
October 3 to December 8, 2023
All public high school students in New Brunswick can participate in a province-wide competition that allows students to win even more as they explore career and post-secondary resources through the 10-question Daily Quiz. A total of 22 top-ranking schools on four leaderboards will receive a piece of the $12,000 prize pot.
- Competition dates: October 3 to December 8, 2023
- Eligibility: High school students in New Brunswick
- Available in English and French
Bishop’s ChatterHigh Competition (Quebec):
October 30 to December 8, 2023
In this competition by Bishop’s, students will explore career and post-secondary resources through the 10-question daily quiz activity. During the competition dates, the points students, parents and teachers earn from quizzing all contribute to the school's ranking. Top-ranking schools on four leaderboards will receive a piece of the $2,500 prize pot.
- Competition dates: October 30 to December 8, 2023
- Eligibility: Grade 6 and secondary I–V students in Quebec
- Available in English and French
